An ICTU student awarded 3rd prize in students’ scientific research in 2016

On 07 January, 2016, Mr. Nguyen Van Nang – a student of class TTDPT-K11A, Faculty of Multimedia Communications, ICTU was awarded the third prize at the awarding ceremony for “Students’ scientific research in 2016”. The ceremony was solemnly held at the main hall of University of Transport and Communications (No. 3, Cau Giay Street, Dong Da District, Hanoi).

Playground for talented students willing to learn

To provide the eager students across the country with the opportunity to express interest in research, the healthy and useful intellectual playground, Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Central Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi minh, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association organized the contest “Students’ scientific research”.  In the previous years, the contest was held every 3 years, from 2016, realized the importance of playground, Ministry of Education and Training has decided to organize it annually to encourage and “germinate” the creative and talented individuals of the country.

With the aim to encourage and motivate students to show off their skills and their knowledge to create useful products, the competition has attracted hundreds of students across the country eager to participate. Through two rounds of reviews by the panel of leading scientists, the contest has chosen a number of innovative and highly applicable projects. Some projects were appreciated by council for being practical and catching up with the needs and orientations of society.

280 projects were selected to the final round of the competition, of which 8 were awarded the first prize, 30 projects were awarded second prize and 66 ones were awarded the third prize. Representing ICTU, Mr. Nguyen Van Nang – a student of class TTDPT-K11A, Faculty of Multimedia Communications was honored the third prize.

When enthusiasm of youth to be honored

The competition “Students’ scientific research in 2016”, Mr. Nguyen Van Nang was highly appreciated by the evaluation board with the project “Dormitory Design and Simulation”. With the use of virtual reality technology, Mr. Nguyen Van Nang has created an experimental space environment for living in a dormitory. The project is to help people have the crisp and authentic feeling from the smallest detail, as if living in a real environment. From there, the user can adjust the construction and real needs and wishes of themselves to avoid unwanted errors.
