University of Information and Communication Technology held the opening ceremony of the new academic year 2024-2025

On the evening of November 18, University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) held the Opening Ceremony of the new academic year 2024-2025. Initially, being a training unit mainly specializing in information technology, ICTU has quickly caught up with the world’s trends and Vietnam’s. Currently, the university has 24 academic programs, including many programs in many new fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, semiconductor microchips, digital economy, digital media, and digital art.


The belief in a prestigious and quality training institution is increasing, as evidenced by the steady increase in the number of full-time university students at ICTU through the admission seasons. In particular, in the academic year 2024 – 2025, ICTU welcomed nearly 3,000 new students, bringing the total training scale to approximately 10,000 students.


Giving a speech at the Opening Ceremony, the Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee – Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung shared ten stories with the young generation. Mr. Dung emphasized that students are the outstanding children of the country, so they should always have a radiant look on their faces, have the freedom and generosity of youth, have the confidence and courage and the brilliance of aspiration.


Mr. Dung hopes that students will let the freedom and openness of youth shine, light up a flame of enthusiasm in their eyes, and bring confidence, resilience, and burning desire.
Besides, the Chairman of the Thai Nguyen People’s Committee and ICTU leaders shared with students about opportunities and future career trends in the IT industry, Semiconductor industry, Thai Nguyen province’s policy on AI applications, helping students connect and approach businesses, and the difference when studying at ICTU.

Mr. Dung initiated, activated, and donated the online digital book platform to University of Information and Communication Technology.


The project was initiated with a Reavol digital platform developed by Vietnamese people, providing features for reading, listening to books, summarizing books, and sharing books created by users; 500 selected e-books and 10,000 free lifetime accounts for ICTU students.
On this occasion, the collective and individual lecturers of University of Information and Communication Technology were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee for their outstanding achievements in activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory. The university’s rector received a certificate of merit for his outstanding achievements in the emulation movement “Thai Nguyen promotes the Digital Transformation Program for the period 2021-2023”.
