Start-up Connections Lighting Forum and the Final Competition of 2nd Start-up Ideas of Thai Nguyen University

On May 16th, at University of Information and Communications Technology (ICTU) under Thai Nguyen University organized the Start-up Connections Lighting Forum, and the final competition of 2nd Start-up Ideas of Thai Nguyen University 2018.

Attending the program there were Prof. Dr. Le Trong Hung – Director of Department of Science and Environment under Ministry of Education and Training, and Associate Professor Nguyen Duc Dung – Deputy Director of Institute of Information Technology under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Associate Professor Do Nang Toan – Director of Institute of Information Technology under National University of Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Van Truc – Director of Center for Training and Support for Development of Technology Market under Ministry of Science and Technology.

As for the leaders of Thai Nguyen province there were Mr. Pham Quoc Chinh – Director of Department of Science and Technology; representatives of Department of Planning and Investment; representatives of leaders of provincial delegations, representatives of leaders of enterprises and entrepreneurs in the province.

The program also had the presence of Associate Professor Nguyen Huu Cong – Vice President of Thai Nguyen University, Dr. Vu Duc Thai – Deputy Secretary of ICTU Party Committee, Vice Rector of University of Information and Communication Technology, leaders of member units of Thai Nguyen University, successful teachers, alumni, scientists who are interested in the entrepreneurial start-ups, youth creation and start-up groups coming from member schools and nearly 1000 students from Thai Nguyen University.

At the forum, representatives of ministries, specialists, scientists, business leaders and students were introduced to presentations and ideas on how to start a business. At the same time, the forum also offers opportunities for exchanges, discussions, learning, and seeking opportunities for collaboration between valued scientific scientists and students looking for startup ideas. Entrepreneurs are willing to cooperate to bring the science and technology products, innovative ideas of students into reality.

In response to the creative start-up movement across the country, February 2, 2017, Thai Nguyen University has issued a plan to host the Start-up Connections Lighting Forum and Competition of Start-up Ideas 2017. Continuing the success of the first program, in 2018 member units of Thai Nguyen University launched and organized the preliminary contest with more than 700 proposed ideas. Throughout the preliminary round, there were 30 ideas selected by the review panels into the final round.

After marking the products on display, the jury selected the six best ideas to present in the final round which include “Driving Aid System” from Faculty of Information Technology, University of Information Technology and Communication; “Organic Spray of mosquitoes and insects” from Department of Agriculture, University of Agriculture and Forestry, “Eco-friendly Battery Recycling System ECOAC” from Faculty of Electronics, University of Industrial Technology; “Producing and consuming clean medicinal herbs in the value chain” from Center for Research and Technology Transfer, Thai Nguyen University Branch in Lao Cai province, “Building a complete production process for the red cell” from Department of Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and “Producing and distributing green tea nano mouthwash” from University of Science.

Eventually, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize for the idea of ​​”Organic spray of mosquito and insect repellent” from Faculty of Agriculture, University of Agriculture and Forestry. Second prize belongs to the idea of ​​“Producing and distributing green tea nano mouthwash” from University of Science. Third prize belongs to the idea of ​​“ECOAC Eco-friendly Battery Recovery System” from Faculty of Electronics, University of Industrial Technology. Encouraging prizes were given by the organizers to three ideas “Driving aids system” from Faculty of Information Technology, University of Information Technology and Communication and “Producing and consuming clean medicinal herbs in the value chain” from Center for Research and Technology Transfer, Thai Nguyen University Branch in Lao Cai province, and “Building a complete production process” from Department of Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Besides organizing forums, competitions are very important contributing to promoting and developing the movement of cadres, lecturers, students and students throughout the University. This is also the driving force, which is an important activity to improve the quality of training, scientific research, job creation for students after graduation to meet the requirements of the society, raising the brand name of the whole TNU. It contributes to the cause of socio-economic development in the northern mountainous region in particular and the whole country in general.
