ICTU welcomed over 2,600 new students

On the evening of October 29, over ICTU’s 2,600 new students of cohort 22 (K22) along with the staff, lecturers and senior students attended experiential activities and welcomed the new academic year 2023-2024.

Attending the program were Dr. Khamtan Somvong – Cultural Counselor from the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung – the President of Thai Nguyen University, representatives of provincial departments, divisions, branches and affiliated institutions of Thai Nguyen University.

Speaking at the Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung highly appreciated the efforts of ICTU’s teachers and students. After 22 years of construction and development, ICTU has affirmed its position as a prestigious higher education institution, training high-quality human resources in the field of information and communication technology and other related area. Although still facing many difficulties, in recent years the university has continued to develop in both training scale and quality, which has been recognized by society.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung hoped that in the academic year 2023 – 2024, ICTU will successfully complete the assigned tasks and obtain many positive changes in training, scientific research, and technology transfer.

With the goal of application-oriented training, ICTU has become a reliable address providing human resources for many large corporations throughout the country. The rate of students having jobs after graduation is over 80%.

Preparing for this new academic year, ICTU has successfully completed its enrollment target with 2,611 new students of cohort 22, bringing the total number of students to 8,952. Currently, the university offers 21 undergraduate majors in various fields and groups, including information technology majors, engineering and technology majors, information system and communication majors, economics and administration majors, and international joint training & high-quality programs.

In addition, ICTU trains three (03) majors at the graduate level, an international program and twinning undergraduate programs with partners in South Korea and Taiwan.
