ICTU organized training on building, reviewing and adjusting training programs according to output standards

On October 3, 2023, ICTU organized training on building, reviewing and adjusting training programs according to output standards. Attending the training session were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hao – one of Vietnam’s leading higher education quality accreditors, Dr. Vu Duc Thai – ICTU Vice Rector, Dr. Do Dinh Cuong – ICTU Vice Rector and representatives of leaders of functional divisions, academic faculties and lecturers who participate in specialized groups to review and adjust the curriculum.

During the training session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Hao shared and discussed with participants some notes when designing training programs according to the OBE & CDIO approaches. Upon the basic principles of OBE, all teaching-learning and assessment activities should be aimed at what learners need to demonstrate, that all learners are capable of achieving the highest learning results if are facilitated and have appropriate methods. Besides, the designed training program starts from what the learner needs to demonstrate after finishing the learning process. On the other hand, approaching training program development according to the CDIO approach is a training process based on output standards aimed at equipping students with in-depth knowledge of the basic principles of the field of study, which helps learners comprehensively develop personal skills, professional and social competencies, create conditions to narrow the gap between academic training and the needs of employers, shifting from training based on what we have to train what society needs.

Under the exchange and guidance of experts, groups discussed, analyzed and contributed ideas, thereby understood some basic requirements of building and adjusting training programs according to output standards.

Building an advanced, high-quality training program that meets regional and international standards is essential, so gradually perfecting and adjusting the training program according to output standards is considered a compulsory task of ICTU’s strategic plans to enhance training quality.
