On April 10, ICTU organized a program to celebrate Bunpimay 2567 – Lao New Year 2024.

Attending the program there were Mr. Khamphao Ernthavanh – Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of Lao PDR in Vietnam, and Mr. Khamtan Somvong – Counselor for Education and Culture, Lao Embassy in Vietnam. On behalf of Thai Nguyen province, there were Ms. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee; Representatives of leaders of departments, branches, and sectors of the province; representatives of the University Board, and leaders of 10 universities, colleges, and high schools that train Lao students in Thai Nguyen province.

Thai Nguyen always pays attention to educational and training cooperation for Lao students in the province, especially for Lao students of provinces and cities that have partnerships with Thai Nguyen province. In recent years, the province has trained many generations of Lao students. Lao graduates returning to their homeland have effectively promoted the knowledge, political courage, and skills they have cultivated and accumulated to make important contributions to the construction and development of Laos. This contributed to cultivating the tradition of friendship, special solidarity, and pure loyalty between the two Parties, the two States, and the people of the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Laos.

Giving an address at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, hoped that the Embassy of the Lao PDR in Vietnam would continue to pay attention and act as a bridge to support Thai Nguyen province in enhancing cooperation and development with localities in Laos. At the same time, she requested that the Thai Nguyen Provincial Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association, agencies, and units, especially training institutions, continue to pay more attention to international students studying in the province. Lao students always strive to study and practice to achieve the highest results during their studies in Thai Nguyen.

Thai Nguyen currently has 1,200 Lao students studying at ten institutions in four training systems, including high school, college, university, and graduate school. Particularly, ICTU, in the period 2014-2024, has trained over 400 bachelors, engineers, masters, and doctoral students for Laos, making an important contribution to the construction and development of Laos.

On this occasion, Thai Nguyen province gave New Year gifts to 10 institutions in the province to motivate and encourage the spirit of international students to celebrate Bupimay in a happy atmosphere.
