ICTU’s Education Quality is Accredited

In the morning of 16 March, 2017, ICTU solemnly held a ceremony to announce the decision on accreditation of quality standards for higher education institution level and receive the Certificate of accreditation of educational quality at higher educational institution level.

Attending the ceremony, there were Assoc. Prof. Mai Van Trinh – Director General of Department of Testing and Educational quality accreditation

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuong Nga – Director of Center for Educational quality accreditation
of Association of Universities and Colleges Vietnam.

On behalf of Thai Nguyen People’s Committee, there was Mr. Vu Hong Bac – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Thai Nguyen People’s Committee.

As for Thai Nguyen University, Assoc. Prof. Tran Viet Khanh – Vice Preseident of Thai Nguyen University; Dr. Pham Van Hung – Head of Quality Assurance and Testing.

As for ICTU, there are comrades in the Executive Committee of the Party Committee, ICTU Board, representatives of leaders of functional units, faculties, departments and staffs, lecturers and students of the university.

The ceremony also welcomed the presence of scientists from the Institute of Information Technology of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, School of Electronics – Informatics – Automation; representatives from Thai Nguyen People’s Committee, Thai Nguyen Department of Science and Technology, Thai Nguyen Department of Information and Communications, Thai Nguyen Newspaper, VNPT Thai Nguyen, universities under Thai Nguyen University and high schools in the province.

The ceremony overview

Giving a speech at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Tao – Secretary of ICTU Party Committee, Rector summarized the development of ictu as well as the preparation and completion of records, evidence to register for quality accreditation. Having undergone a formal survey for external evaluation from 01 – 04 November, 2016 in a serious, open and transparent spirit, the university has met 53 out of 61 accreditation criteria (Accounting for 86.88%.). As a result, the university has been accredited by the Education Quality Accreditation Council of Center for Educational quality accreditation

of the Association of Universities and Colleges Vietnam Educational quality standards which recognizes ICTU for education quality standards (According to Decision No. 09 / QD-KDCLGD dated on 20 February, 2017). On behalf of all staff, Dr. Nguyen Van Tao also pledged in the coming time to make every effort to promote the strengths and improve the existing points and recommendations of the Council for enhancing and upgrading the training quality of the university

With the achievements, the university is honored to be awarded the Certificate of commendation by Association of Colleges and Colleges Vietnam for having been training high quality human resources and actively contributed to consolidating and developing Association over the years.

This is a great event, marking the timeless development of a young university in the system of universities across the country. Being the first university in the northern mountainous region to receive the certificate of accreditation of educational institutions, ICTU is also one of the first 16 universities in the country to be recognized as meeting the standards for accredited educational quality of MoET.

In the coming time, the university will continue to strive to fulfill its announced mission and objectives. By 2020, ICTU will become a national e-university, one of the leading centers of higher education in Vietnam for training human resources at undergraduate and graduate level, scientific research and technology transfer in the field of information and communication technology for the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, meeting the requirements of international integration.
