ICTU – The only university to win two awards at the Sao Khue Awards 2025
On April 19, 2025, University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) – Thai Nguyen University, officially marked a remarkable milestone by becoming the only university to win awards in two categories at the Sao Khue Awards 2025, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of information technology and digital transformation in Vietnam.
“Make in Thai Nguyen” solution shines in the National Technology Arena
Outperforming over 500 businesses from 09 fields competing across 62 award categories, the Intelligent Blended Learning System (iBLS), developed by ICTU, was proudly announced as the winner in two categories: “Education and Training” and “Innovation”.
This is one of the very few educational technology products developed from an academic environment to win at the Sao Khue Awards, while most other products come from large technology corporations. This victory not only affirms the university’s innovative capabilities but also demonstrates the determination and growth of a higher education institution in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam.
iBLS – The Smart Learning Ecosystem with the Imprint of the Era
Developed while Vietnam’s education system enters the era of comprehensive digital transformation, iBLS was designed to optimize blended learning methods, applying artificial intelligence to personalize learning pathways, auto-generate questions, assess progress, and support decision-making through learning data analytics. Currently, nearly 10,000 ICTU students are using this system daily in their training activities.
Not stopping at the internal scope, ICTU is gradually expanding the deployment of iBLS to other educational institutions both within and outside the region, aiming to build a sustainable digital education ecosystem with a strong “Make in Thai Nguyen” signature.

The Sao Khue Awards, organized annually by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) since 2003, are often referred to as the “Oscar” of Vietnam’s information technology industry. The products and services honored must undergo a rigorous evaluation process by industry-leading experts. Therefore, winning the Sao Khue Award is not only a source of pride but also a recognition of the high prestige and practical value within the technology and education communities.
