ICTU Strengthens International Cooperation in Game Programming
On March 18, 2025, ICTU held a work meeting with Associate Professor Dr. Yannick Francillette from University of Quebec, Canada. The meeting yielded significant outcomes, paving the way for collaboration in game programming training and research, and providing ICTU students with opportunities to engage with international standards in this field.

Associate Professor Dr. Yannick Francillette – A Leading Expert in Game Programming
Associate Professor Dr. Yannick Francillette, a leading expert in game programming, holds a Ph.D. from University of Montpellier (France) and completed postdoctoral research at University of Quebec (Canada). He specializes in video game design, programming, adaptive systems, and virtual reality. With years of teaching and research experience, he has mentored numerous outstanding students, some of whom hold key positions at Ubisoft—a world-renowned video game development and publishing company.
Discussion on Training and Research Collaboration
During the meeting, both parties discussed potential collaboration avenues:

Joint training in Game Programming: ICTU students can study in Vietnam under the instruction of University of Quebec lecturers through both online and offline formats.

Faculty exchange: Lecturers from University of Quebec will directly teach certain courses at ICTU, tailored to the university’s training orientation.

Collaboration in scientific research: Both institutions will cooperate in research and scientific publications on game programming and virtual reality. Additionally, University of Quebec lecturers will participate in the International Conference on Advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICTA) as speakers, chairs, or reviewers.
As part of the collaboration, Associate Professor Dr. Yannick Francillette conducted two seminars: “Introduction to Video Game Development” and “Research Topics on Video Games.” These events attracted nearly 100 students from Institute of International Training, Faculty of Information Technology, and the ICTU Computer Science Club. Students were inspired by game programming and had the opportunity to discuss challenges in game design and career prospects in the gaming industry in Vietnam and Canada.
This collaboration reaffirms ICTU’s pioneering role in game programming training and research, opening up numerous opportunities for students to engage with international standards.
