ICTU hosted a meeting with Hongpeng Education Group (HEG), China

On 30 October, Thai Nguyen University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) held a working session with representatives of the Hongpeng Education Group (HEG), China to explore opportunities for cooperation in training, research and human-resource development in information technology and artificial intelligence.
On behalf of ICTU, there were Dr. Do Dinh Cuong – Vice Rector, together with leaders of academic faculties, centres and functional divisions. Representing Hongpeng Education Group were Mr. Ran Ling Hui – Head of HEG’s Vietnam Representative Office – and senior executives of Phong Gia Wuhan Co., Ltd.

Dr. Do Dinh Cuong – Vice Rector of ICTU, discussed ICTU’s development orientation, strengths and potential areas of collaboration.
During the meeting, both parties presented their respective development orientations and institutional strengths, and exchanged detailed discussions on possible areas of cooperation. HEG proposed to build a full-package program – including hardware and curriculum – directing towards a bilateral investment cooperation model with ICTU, while also supporting teacher training, hardware equipment and English-language learning materials.

Representatives from HEG also shared their cooperation vision and development plan with ICTU for the coming period.
Both sides agreed in principle to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the near future, as the foundation for implementing specific programs. HEG will complete its dossier and send a detailed proposal to ICTU within November, and simultaneously invite ICTU leadership to participate in a Technology Fair at Hanoi National University (HANU) and to visit HEG’s headquarters in Wuhan, China. ICTU will send a list of 24 undergraduate programs to HEG for reference, in order to identify the most suitable direction for collaboration.
Hongpeng Education Group (HEG) was established in 2006 in Wuhan, and is one of China’s leading education-providers in the digital transformation and high-technology human-resource training sectors. With nationwide operations, HEG implements a variety of activities such as vocational education, digital-talent training, industry-education integration and enterprise-technology solutions. The Group is currently a strategic partner of major corporations including Huawei, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent and Douyin.

Through this working session, both ICTU and HEG reached consensus on cooperation orientation in training and developing human resources in information technology, artificial intelligence and digital communication. The two sides plan to jointly develop training programmes linked with enterprise practice and reality; to create short-term certificate courses recognized by industry; to establish smart-classrooms, AI practice centres; and to promote research, technology transfer and student startup support.
The cooperation between ICTU and the Hongpeng Education Group opens significant opportunities for the internationalization of training programs, bringing advanced technologies and modern pedagogical methods from China into Vietnam. This also represents an important step in ICTU’s development strategy – moving towards an open, creative university model, and deep international integration in the digital era.
