ICTU delegation visits KNU and joins Vietnam–Korea cultural exchange program

On August 28, 2025, an ICTU delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Trung Nghia – Rector, and Dr. Do Dinh Cuong – Vice Rector, had a working session with the leadership of Kyungpook National University (KNU), Republic of Korea. Representing KNU were Prof. Young-Woo Heo – President, Prof. Soon Jung Ki – Vice President for Research, Prof. Kim Pan Soo – Dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration, Prof. Yi Hak – Vice Head of International Cooperation, and Prof. Kyung-Hoon Kim – Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Information Technology.

In a spirit of open collaboration, the two institutions discussed and agreed on several important orientations. ICTU and KNU will expand international twinning training programs in E-Commerce and Digital Business Administration, while promoting enrollment for the 3+1 twinning program in Software Engineering.

In addition, the two universities agreed to implement student exchange programs through the GIC-E Center, creating opportunities for ICTU students to access KNU’s extensive academic network and that of its international partners.

During the visit, the ICTU delegation also explored KNU’s management models, training organization, and modern facilities serving teaching and research, which bring about valuable insights to apply in enhancing the quality of education in Vietnam.

At the same time, the ICTU–KNU student exchange program took place with the participation of 22 ICTU students, including 10 students from the 3+1 twinning program in Software Engineering with KNU and 12 students from the International Information Technology program and the regular program.

At KNU, ICTU students joined the academic forum “KNU – Opportunities for Study and Career” at the Department of Computer Science and Technology, School of Information Technology. They also took part in the Vietnam–Korea cultural exchange program, where they shared experiences about studying and living in Korea, and connected with the Vietnamese Student Association and ICTU peers currently studying at KNU. These activities not only expanded their academic knowledge but also enriched cultural understanding and strengthened international integration skills.

The working visit and student exchange program at KNU left many meaningful impressions, paving the way for stronger cooperation between ICTU and international partners. These activities not only brought tangible benefits to students and faculty of both universities but also reaffirmed ICTU’s strategy of educational internationalization, steadily realizing its goal of becoming a reputable, pioneering center for training and research in the digital era and global integration.
