Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huy Dung sent many messages to ICTU students
On the evening of November 18, University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) held the Opening Ceremony of the new academic year 2024 – 2025 and celebrated Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, November 20. Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, and representatives of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam.
ICTU has been gradually affirming its pioneering position in implementing the strategy of developing high-quality digital human resources for the country and the region. The University quickly caught up with the trends of the world and Vietnam and now has 24 academic programs, including many programs in new fields, such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Semiconductors, Digital Economy, Digital Media, and Digital Arts.
By promptly grasping industry trends, along with improving training quality, ICTU has gradually affirmed its brand and reputation in society. The number of full-time university students at ICTU has increased steadily through the admission seasons. In 2024, ICTU welcomed nearly 3,000 new students, bringing the total training scale to over 10,000 full-time university students. The University currently has modern facilities and a team of quality lecturers who are dedicated to imparting knowledge.
Giving an address at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Dung sent his congratulations to all staff and lecturers of the University on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, November 20. With the slogan “Let’s light up the fire in every eye!” he advised ICTU students to aspire and strive to build a digital Thai Nguyen, a green Thai Nguyen, and a happy Thai Nguyen to realize the dream of a programming generation, combining programming thinking with the thinking of creating typical products of Thai Nguyen.
Mr. Dung conveyed to the students the following messages: Awaken the giant within each of us; grow up from small things; go to University, but the important thing is self-study; form a reading habit; practice martial spirit; value the importance of frugality and silence; put filial piety in the first position; use the five pillars of life. Mr. Dung and the experts also spent time in dialogue and answered many questions from the students.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Provincial People’s Committee to the University and two individuals with outstanding achievements in contributing to the province’s digital transformation program and activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
