ICTU and Vietnam National University, Hanoi co-organizes the International Scientific Conference ICTA 2025

The International Conference on Advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICTA 2025) took place from 27–28 November 2025 at the Institute of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-ITI). The event marks a significant milestone for the Thai Nguyen University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU), which co-organized the conference with VNU-ITI, affirming ICTU’s academic reputation on par with major institutions nationwide and its pioneering role in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with the mission of promoting high-quality research and advancing international integration.
Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Tu, Director of VNU-ITI, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Trung Nghia, Rector of ICTU, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing that ICTA 2025 is a reputable academic forum that fosters knowledge exchange, dissemination of new research findings, and enhanced scientific-technological collaboration in information technology, communication, and emerging smart technologies.

The 2025 conference theme, “Toward the Modern Technologies and Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductor” opened new research directions in fields such as smart homes, smart cities, smart education and more. The theme contributed to bridging the gap between research and practice while highlighting future trends and orientations in the ICT field. ICTA 2025 has become a valuable platform for researchers to share insights, breakthroughs and interdisciplinary approaches. More than a knowledge-exchange forum, ICTA continues to serve as an international academic hub, where ICTU asserts its research capacity and global scientific orientation.
ICTA 2025 recorded impressive numbers: 357 submissions, with 174 papers accepted after two rounds of independent peer-review (acceptance rate: 48%).
Notably, the conference featured three plenary speeches and one invited speech delivered by world-leading scientists:
- Prof. Dr. Vassilis C. Georgians, University of Thessaly, Larissa (Greece), presented “Hybrid Evolutionary Feature Selection: From Core Principles to Future AI Challenges” highlighting critical issues such as scalability with ultra-high-dimensional data, streaming data, explainable AI integration and energy-efficient optimization – calling for stronger interdisciplinary collaboration and industrial adoption.
- Prof. Dr. Juin J. Liou, a globally renowned expert in microelectronics and nanoelectronics from North Minzu University (China), delivered a presentation on “Micro/Nanoelectronics: Current Status, Outlook, and Reliability Issues” emphasizing that even the most advanced products cannot succeed commercially without guaranteed reliability.
- Prof. Dr. Peter Hubinský, Slovak University of Technology (Slovakia), shared insights on “Overview of Experiences with Vibration Damping in Electromechanical Systems” covering key aspects of mitigating mechanical oscillations in multi-axis electromechanical systems with flexible components and pendulum-like structures.
- Prof. Dr. Oscal Tzyh-Chiang Chen, National Chung Cheng University (Taiwan, China), presented a speech on “Pervasive Intelligence: Evolving from Moore’s Law to the Era of Language Model Scaling.”
ICTA 2025 welcomed researchers from 19 countries, including France, the United States, Canada, Australia, China, Russia, Taiwan, Korea and Greece. The Proceeding was published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series (Scopus Q4). Accompanying the ICTA series is the Vietnam ICT Faculties – Schools – Institutes Club (FISU Vietnam), which played a pivotal role in connecting and supporting the entire Vietnamese ICT academic community, greatly contributing to the success of ICTA.
The ICTA conference was first held in 2016 at ICTU with 150 participants and 69 high-quality papers published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing (Scopus Q4). In 2023, ICTU elevated ICTA to its second edition with 179 submissions, 83 of which were selected and published by Springer, marking ICTA as an annual academic event hosted by ICTU. In 2024, the third ICTA edition was co-organized by ICTU and Hung Vuong University, featuring 211 submissions and 113 accepted papers published in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (Scopus Q4). Over the years, ICTA has become an essential academic bridge connecting Vietnamese ICT institutions with the international research community. The scientific contributions presented at ICTA not only carry strong academic value but also promote practical applications, innovation and technological solutions serving Vietnam’s development in the digital era.
A highlight of ICTA 2025 was the Launching Ceremony of the Vietnam Semiconductor Alliance, chaired by Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This historic event marks a major step toward building a national semiconductor ecosystem, strengthening ties among universities, research institutes and enterprises, and opening new opportunities for high-tech cooperation and development in Vietnam.
