ICTU welcomes international students for internship and study: Affirming its role as an internationalised learning environment
Recently, ICTU welcomed 10 international students to undertake internships and study at the university’s affiliated units. This is one of the notable activities within the university’s strategy to strengthen international cooperation, reaffirming ICTU’s role in training high-quality human resources in a globally standardised educational environment.
Dr. Vu Duc Thai – Vice Rector of ICTU – delivering remarks at the welcoming ceremony
Among the 10 international students joining ICTU on this occasion, four are participating through the exchange program of the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) – a prestigious global organisation in the field of technical internships. The remaining six students are from Feng Chia University, Taiwan, taking part in an internship program funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan under the “Scholarship Program for Outstanding Students to Study Abroad.”
These international interns are undergraduate and postgraduate students majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and English Language Teaching, hailing from renowned institutions such as the Technical University of Košice (Slovakia), Clausthal University of Technology (Germany), Chulalongkorn University and Khon Kaen University (Thailand), and Feng Chia University (Taiwan).
During their two- to three-month internship at ICTU, the students are assigned professional tasks in various units, including the Faculty of Information Technology, the Institute of Applied Science and Technology, and the Institute of International Training. Notably, eight students from Slovakia, India, and Taiwan are working at AITA-LAB (C6 Building) – a high-tech laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities. Their research projects include applying artificial intelligence in education, developing lightweight AI models and AI-integrated embedded systems, designing and implementing AI-assisted handwashing education systems on embedded devices, and using AI technology to build backtesting systems for Forex trading platforms.
Meanwhile, two interns from Thailand are teaching English for preparatory classes at the Institute of International Training, while also actively supporting extracurricular activities and the university’s English Club. These experiences not only help the international students integrate and enhance their teaching skill, but also foster cultural exchange and improve English proficiency among ICTU students.
In the coming period, ICTU will continue to implement outstanding international activities aimed at expanding its multinational academic network and fostering a sustainable connection between ICTU students and the global student community. Through collaborations with international partners, specialised seminars, and academic–cultural exchange programs, the university will not only provide opportunities to access modern knowledge but also promote an integration mindset, preparing students for their journey to conquer knowledge and thrive in the global labour market. These efforts will serve as a foundation for ICTU to continually enhance training quality, develop an internationalised educational environment, and gradually affirm its position on the regional and global education map.
