ICTU successfully hosts Open Steam & AI Day 2025 – A technology event for high school students across Thai Nguyen Province
On April 13, 2025, Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen Province, in cooperation with University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU), successfully organized the OPEN STEAM & AI DAY THAI NGUYEN 2025 event, attracting a large turnout and participation from students from 37 high schools across the province.
This large-scale event aimed to spread the spirit of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) in general education, particularly creating opportunities for high school students to be exposed early to modern technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and creative learning models. It helped students gain a clearer understanding of the fields they can pursue in the future.

ICTU’s collaboration with Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen to host OPEN STEAM & AI DAY further affirms the university’s position and reputation in the field of modern technology education. This not only reflects the trust from educational management agencies but also serves as clear evidence of ICTU’s pioneering role in promoting STEM/STEAM education to the student community across the province.
As a leading technology training institution in the northern midlands and mountainous region, ICTU has consistently embraced innovation and actively connected with high schools, creating a bridge between higher education and general education in the STEAM field. The co-organization of this event continues to demonstrate the university’s commitment to bringing technology and artificial intelligence closer to young generations, thereby contributing to the formation of dynamic, capable digital citizens – a core force in the digital transformation of Thai Nguyen in particular and Vietnam in general.
OPEN STEAM & AI DAY – A Platform with deep educational significance for High school students
OPEN STEAM & AI DAY is not just a competition; it is also an academic playground where high school students have the opportunity to experience fields like technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and creativity in a real-world environment. This event is especially meaningful as it helps students develop logical thinking and creativity, while also stimulating their passion and enthusiasm for learning in science and technology subjects.
The three main competitions launched during the event offered a total prize fund of up to VND 303 million, with the first prize of the “Thai Nguyen AImazing” competition reaching VND 100 million.
– Competition 1: AI applications in promoting Thai Nguyen tourism, “Thai Nguyen AImazing.”
– Competition 2: Creative 3D design for agricultural tools, “Thai Nguyen Green.”
– Competition 3: Robotics innovation competition with the theme “The Road to Tan Cuong, Thai Nguyen.”

High school students excited to experience and explore technology and artificial intelligence at ICTU
OPEN STEAM & AI DAY also provided an opportunity for high school students in Thai Nguyen Province to directly experience and explore the latest technologies. From AI design lessons, creative robotics, to green agriculture models, the event created an environment of creative learning that stimulated the curiosity and exploration of the younger generation.
These experiences not only helped students familiarize themselves with technology but also allowed them to better understand potential career fields, thereby shaping their educational paths and career development.
OPEN STEAM & AI DAY 2025 marks the beginning of a series of three major competitions on AI and STEAM for students across Thai Nguyen Province.
