ICTU expands cooperation and exchange with Feng Chia University (FCU), Taiwan
On August 15, 2024, University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) held a meeting with Prof. Feng Cheng Lin from Feng Chia University (FCU), Taiwan during his visit and work at the university. The meeting marked a new step forward in the cooperative relationship between the two educational institutions.
Strengthening multi-disciplinary cooperation
At the meeting, the two institutions officially handed over the Memorandum of Understanding between FCU and ICTU, marking a new development in the strategic cooperation relationship that has lasted for more than a decade. The exchange focused on cooperation in training Semiconductor Design; and proposed specific plans for the exchange of lecturers, students, and research cooperation in areas of common strengths.
An important part of the meeting was the seminar report of FCU interns at ICTU. The interns presented their research and study results, providing insights into ongoing projects and achievements during their internship at ICTU.
Also at the meeting, representatives of FCU and ICTU shared information on undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship programs for students of the two universities, opening up more opportunities for academic and career development for students and lecturers.
Continuing the journey of sustainable cooperation
Since the beginning of cooperation in 2013, ICTU and FCU have implemented many successful programs. Nearly 20 ICTU staff and lecturers have completed their master’s and doctoral programs at FCU, contributing to improving the quality of training at ICTU.
The year 2024 marks a new step forward in the cooperative relationship when the student exchange program between the two universities is implemented. Both students from ICTU and FCU have the opportunity to take part in the exchange students for internships for a period of 2 to 5 months. In particular, interns receive a monthly stipend of NT$15,000 from the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) and the Scholarship for Outstanding Students of the Ministry of Education of Taiwan.
FCU was founded in 1961 and is located in the urban area of Taichung City, Taiwan. FCU has 40 undergraduate programs, 59 master’s programs, and 14 doctoral programs. FCU is a place of study for many international students because of its diverse majors taught in English. Since 2008, the university has always been in the Top 10 in terms of graduate quality, as assessed by 1,000 leading enterprises in Taiwan. In terms of achievements, FCU is the only comprehensive university recognized by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan as “Perfect Organization – Outstanding Performance.”
