Joining the jubilant atmosphere of the national education sector towards celebrating the 38th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day – “the most noble profession in noble professions” and welcoming the new academic year, on the morning of 17 November, 2020, ICTU solemnly held the opening ceremony of the academic year 2020-2021 and celebrate Vietnam Teachers’ Day (20 November).
Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Quang – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Party Secretary, President of Thai Nguyen University; Dr. Kham Phan Kham On – Counselor of Culture – Education of Laos Embassy in Vietnam; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Viet Binh – Former Rector of ICTU; Dr. Vu Vinh Quang – Former Vice Rector; representatives from PA03 Department of Security – Internal Politics of Thai Nguyen Provincial Police; Industry and Trade Bank – Thai Nguyen branch and representatives of Thai Nguyen Post Office.
As for ICTU, there were Dr. Nguyen Van Tao – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, Rector; Dr. Vu Duc Thai – Vice Rector, Chairman of the ICTU Labour Union; Dr. Do Dinh Cuong – Vice Rector; leaders of functional departments, faculties, centers together with student representatives of each cohort and new students of the 19th cohort he ceremony.

The program was started with special performances performed by students which were elaborately arranged and really brought full joy to all the teachers and staff.
The school year 2019-2020 was a year of turmoil with the emergence of the Covid epidemic in Vietnam and around the world, however, in that difficult time, teachers and the university had affirmed the creativeness and adaptability to all conditions to overcome difficulties and successfully complete missions. During the last academic year, 38% of the students achieved good and excellent academic results, 96% of the staff completed and completed with distinction the tasks, ICTU achieved the excellent title in Thai Nguyen University and obtained the certificate of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, which was a testament to the non-stop efforts of the university’ teachers and students, the attention and direction of Thai Nguyen University leaders, the cooperation and assistance of partners.

In the academic year 2020-2021, the school is pleased to welcome nearly 1,200 new students to the ICTU common house, with many innovations focusing on learners, Dr. Nguyen Van Tao affirmed that the ICTU would always create the best conditions for them to learn, practice and grow.
In his welcome speech, Dr. Nguyen Van Tao also expressed his sincere gratitude to the attention and direction of Thai Nguyen University, the cooperation and assistance of the Institute of Information Technology under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, teachers and generations of students who have had many contributions to the development of the university. At the same time, Dr. Nguyen Van Tao wished the teachers to continue to be a moral example of self-study and creativity, always maintain the flame of passion, inspire creativity for learners; continue to join hands to build and develop ICTU to contribute to the educational development of the country.
On behalf of Thai Nguyen University, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Quang – President of Thai Nguyen University sent his best wishes to the staff, lecturers and students of the university; at the same time, we wanted ICTU to urgently strengthen the entire leadership system, continue to achieve more success, and deserve being a prestigious center for training staff in the high-tech in the Northern mountainous midland region and of the country. On this occasion, Thai Nguyen University awarded scholarships to 10 excellent students.

On behalf of nearly 1,200 new K19 students, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thao – a student of K19D Information Technology class expressed his honor to become an ICTU student, and at the same time showed his determination to constantly strive in learning and practice for the best possible achievement, upholding the traditions of generations of students.

At the ceremony, ICTU also announced the rewarding decisions at all levels for individuals and groups who had outstanding achievements in the academic year 2019-2020.
